Draw and label four finches that adapted to their new environment. Explain the adaptation using the following categories:

Colouration and plimage: for identification, for protection from predators and insulation.
 Bill:  Flat and wide- to scoop food from water; Hooked- to tear flesh; Tiny or long and pointed- to catch insects; short and thick- to crack open seeds

Wing shape- Elliptical- broad and rounded giving good lift at slow speeds and manoeuvring in close quarters; tapered-for fast, agile flight; Long, narrow, pointed- to reduce drag for long- distance travel and speed; Large, wide wings- soaring ability.

Tail shape: Long and narrow- to manoeuver quickly between trees, bushes and in flight; short and wide- for flapping, hovering; Large and fanlike- for lift and control; Small and narroe- swimming and diving

Foot: Webbed- for swimming; Large, strong and sharp talons- to grasp and hold small animals and fish; Tough and muscular- to run on land; perching- to hold tree branches.
