Four molecules of ATP are formed when one glucose molecule goes through the reactions of glycolysis.

Is it correct to say that glycolysis yields two molecules of ATP?  Explain your answer.

Yes... Glycolysis yields two molecules of ATP (free energy containing molecule), two molecules of pyruvic acid and two "high energy" electron carrying molecules of NADH.

Basically, 4 ATP is made, but 2 is used up, so a net of 2 molecules.
