Your 34-year-old patient is admitted with severe diarrhea and fatigue, which has been going on for several days. Why might continued diarrhea cause chronic fatigue?
1.   Lack of interest in anything but self
2.   Decreased appetite because of diarrhea
3.   Use of over-the-counter (OTC) antidiarrheals
4.   Malnutrition because of malabsorption of nutrients
