Why are Photorecptors unusual

Photoreceptors are unusual because these cells
a. contain ion channels that are normally closed.
b. exhibit a resting membrane potential.
c. spontaneously release neurotransmitters.
d. have a very long refractory period.

Having some difficulties with these assignment question. I understand Photoreceptors for the most part.
