A survey of members of the American Group Psychotherapy Association on ethical issues related to endings found:
 
  a. most of the respondents said that ending should be jointly decided by the therapist, client, and the group.
 b. almost all of the respondents had to leave group work due to life situations.
 c. virtually all of the seasoned therapists felt that endings were important and spent a good deal of time both preparing for and processing them.
