The principle goal of community corrections is to:
 
  A) punish the offender as severely as possible.
  B) teach the offender to resist temptation by increasing the offender's contact with the criminal world.
  C) punish the offender with the least restrictive alternative.
  D) humanize the offender in the eyes of the community.
