I am not a biology major and I was wondering how biologists choose specific chemicals or proteins to see the cells alive and colorful under the fluorescent microscope? For example, DAPI can cause the nucleus of the cell to been seen blue.
1.Is there any book that I can the list of these chemicals or proteins that do this? for example for each part of the cell, like the actin etc and each type of cell.
2.How different is this process in comparison of cell staining? Could the same materials used in cell staining for the live fluorescent microscopy too?
3.In the case of DAPI, is it capable of staining all type of cells? or just specific cells?
Thank you Slight Smile
