Mrs. Smith has been taking an antihistamine that contains pseudoephedrine. She tells the pharmacy technician that whenever she takes the pill, her she feels like her heart is racing. What should the pharmacy technician tell her?
A) “Pseudoephedrine can affect the central nervous system. Let me help you choose a different antihistamine.”
B) “The pharmacist can answer that kind of question. Here she comes now.”
C) “I’ve never heard of antihistamines affecting people like that. Maybe you had a small heart attack. You should see your doctor immediately.”
D) “Pseudoephedrine can affect the central nervous system, so it probably made you hallucinate that feeling.”
