need help solving:

2x^1/4 = 9 - 4x^(-1/4)

just not sure what to do with the negative exponent.
show steps please. thanks.

Whenever there is a negative exponent, that entire term is made into a fraction and the negative exponent becomes positive.

For example, 9^-4 can be rewritten as 1/9^4
