1,2,3,4 -- Following outpatient surgery the patient will be discharges after meeting the institution’s criteria, typically: stable vital signs, absence of nausea or dizziness, pain under control, adequate urine output, as well as patient being oriented and demonstrating understanding of post-operative instructions. The patient’s statement that he is ready to go home is not a criterion that would make a patient eligible for discharge after outpatient surgery.
Don't forget to give me a thumbs up!
