Ive been on birth control (ortho tri-cyclen low) for a few months now and have been prescribed 5 days of fluconazole to treat my infection.

Is it ok to take them both around the same time, on an empty stomach? (taking them right when i wake up)

its fine to take them at the same time. however what you're taking for the infection is going to interferre with your birth control. basicaly if you're taking the birth control to avoid having babies, you should avoid having sex while youre taking fluconazole

ASK your doctor or the pharmacist - <>.

I disagree with the first answer and see no reason why that should be a problem.

So - now you have two conflicting answers. That does you no good at all. The ONLY place to get something that helps is from a professional.

If the yeast infection medication interfered with the BC, then you would have to abstain for the entire month, or use other methods, because "interfering" might mean that it did not prevent ovulation. If you ovulate, then you could become pregnant, even if it was a week after you stopped the fluconazole.

So - do not rely on us for a definitive answer.
