Pharmacology is the study of how drugs interact with living organisms to produce a change in function.

A Pharmacist is person who has a bachelors degree [B.Sc] or a masters [M.Sc] in Pharmacology. He / she generally works as a technician.

A Pharmacologist on the other hand has an MD[Pharmacology] post graduate degree after MBBS. He/ she is a doctor.

Pharmacists are usually not doctors. All Pharmacologists are doctors.

Hope it is clear.

Pharmacist, undertake a Bachelor of pharmacy. They need to be registered and most often will work in a retail or hospital environment counseling patients or doctors on drugs. Only a pharmacy degree will enable you to practice as a pharmacist! pharmacology is not enough.

A pharmacologist studies the effects of drugs on biological systems. Is likely to engage in research and may of been a pharmacist then done further studies or alternatively is a science student that has specialized in pharmacology.

Not factual, Juicy. All that is required to be a pharmacologist is a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences. A Masters' degree in Pharmacology is not necessary. And MDs (Medical Doctors) specialties in this area are usually doctors of internal medicine.

Pharmacists must obtain a PharmD, which is a six year program. Some states allow Registered Pharmacists, which only entails a five year educational program, but most pharmaceutical colleges are phasing this out.
