The first blank is discriminate for sure; second blank two distinct real roots. I am in pre cal as well!:)

the b^2-4ac is called the discriminant. If b^2 -4ac>0 (if b^2>4ac) then there are two real roots. If b^2 -4ac<0 (if 4ac>b^2) then there are 0 real roots.
