Sometimes settings on electrical appliances and equipment are highlighted only in black and white or shades of grey. Colour, especially red contrasts, helps to distinguish settings. The great-est concern for safety for the client with sensory impairment is the grey/black settings on the stove handles.
Low-pile carpeting helps to prevent falls.
A handrail on the stairs that extends the full length is beneficial for preventing falls.
Higher-wattage iridescent lighting helps prevent glare and is an appropriate adaptation for visual loss.
