Each patient goal contains the following aspects in order to be correctly written: (1) is based on patient needs, predicts resolution, evidence or progress towards problem resolution, progress toward improved health status or continued maintenance of good health or function; (2) contains a singular behavior or response; (3) states specific criteria used to measure success of the goal; (4) is time limited.
