Cryoprecipitate may be pooled from several units of blood and administered to clients with fibrinogen deficiencies who are predisposed to bleeding problems; genetically, these clients lack Factor VIII. Platelets, albumin and whole blood do not include sufficient quantities of this clotting factor.
