How did the literary production of Hellenistic Greek culture compare to that of the Hellenic period?
A) While histories ceased to be written and the epic declined, Hellenistic Greece  saw the zenith of dramatic production.
B) For the first time since the Homeric period, new Greek epics were widely disseminated.
C) Levels of literacy fell throughout the Greek world, and most of the Hellenic works were lost.
D) Historical information was elaborated, and historical biography came into its own.
