Feedback:
State licensing laws have individual variations, but all nurse practice laws state that it is illegal for any nurse to practice nursing for pay without a license. Practice acts differentiate between LPN/LVN and RN licenses. This regulation is called mandatory licensure. The most important law that the nurse needs to know before seeking employment in a new state is the need to hold a license to practice nursing in that state. Nurses need to be aware of their legal responsibilities regardless in which state they are practicing. LPNs need to follow the directions set by an RN. The nurse needs to be qualified, but confirmation of course completion is not mandatory.
