1.) The spinal cord has two enlargements: one in the cervical and one in the lumbar. These exist because in these regions there is an increased number of cell bodies for the purpose of more motor control.

2.) The caudal equina, "horse's tail", is a bundle of nerves located in the 2nd - 5th lumbar.

proper order (i.e., the median, radial, and ulnar nerves).
