Why are airborne precautions more stringent than droplet precautions?
A.   Microorganisms requiring airborne precautions are more resistant to antibiotics than are microorganisms requiring droplet precautions.
B.   Microorganisms requiring airborne precautions are lighter and stay suspended in the air longer than microorganisms requiring droplet precautions.
C.   There is no true difference between airborne precautions and droplet precautions other than the degree of sophistication and depth of resources of the health care agency.
D.   Microorganisms that form droplets are viruses, which cause diseases that are self-limiting, and those that are truly airborne are bacteria, which cause diseases that require antibiotic therapy.
