The long-term asthmatic patient develops Cushing’s syndrome. The nurse explains that this condition is probably the result of:
1.   his taking corticosteroids for many years.
2.   an abrupt withdrawal of cortisone therapy.
3.   the lack of adrenocorticotropic hormone related to his pituitary gland.
4.   poorly functioning adrenal glands.
