The gynecologist sees a pregnant patient diagnosed with gonorrhea. The nurse asks the physician whether to give the patient a prescription for tetracycline hydrochloride. Instead, the physician gives the patient cefixime (Suprax). The rationale for this decision is that:
1.   the patient must be allergic to the medication.
2.   tetracycline must be contraindicated with prenatal vitamins.
3.   the physician wants to use a stronger medication.
4.   tetracycline hydrochloride is contraindicated in pregnancy.
