Why is it thought that babies born via C-section are more likely to develop allergies, asthma, and other immune system-related troubles?
 
  a. Since C-sections births are often performed because of fetal distress, these babies are often overprotected, and are thus isolated from many allergens and bacteria, thus increasing their susceptibilities to allergies and infections later in life.
  b. This is perhaps due to the different bacteria to which they are exposed during surgical delivery.
  c. Since C-sections births are often performed because of fetal distress, these babies are already more prone to developing these conditions independent of the C-section procedure itself.
  d. Studies have shown that C-section babies receive less postnatal care on average because of a false assumption that they do not suffer the same birthing trauma as babies delivered vaginally.
