A study showed that single women were more interested in a man if they were told that he was married. What is one theory to explain this wedding ring effect?

  a. From a sociobiological perspective, women subconsciously want to enter into a polygynist relationship to diversify their offspring, thus ensuring the survival of their species.
  b. Married men have essentially been pre-screened and have already proven themselves as satisfactory mates
  c. Single women are jealous of married women and subconsciously want to steal their mates.
  d. From a sociobiological perspective, these men have already proven themselves as fertile.
