Attribution Theory:
Attribution theory describes the way in which we explain people's actions, whether they be our own actions or someone else's. More specifically, it describes the reasons we attribute to why they happened and how we decide what to "credit" or "blame" for behaviors.

Answer and Explanation:
The categories are internal and external. Internal attribution is when the individual is attributed for his or her own actions. It is called "internal" because the belief is that "something inside" caused it, such as talent, intelligence, temper, poor self-control, etc. An external attribution is when a greater context or situation is given as the cause of the behavior. For instance, someone in an accident might blame bad luck or claim the car was broken, therefore claiming it is "nobody's fault" that it occurred.
