That's only part of the equation.

An example of a victim-offender mediation would be homeowners meeting with a person (a juvenile) who egged their house on Halloween. The obvious benefit as pointed out in the link above involves solving a problem between a victim and offender without processing the juvenile through the juvenile court system. This could save both parties time, money, and stress.
