TRI - Blood Types and Donor • Recipient interactions.
The surface of donated red blood cells contains different antigens that may or may not react to
antibodies present in the recipient's blood. If the antigens and antibodies react, they can
produce fatal clots in the recipient's body.

Based on blood types and the presence/absence of the Rh factor. fill in the following donation
table based on what blood types each recipient can safely receive. (You can write out a
similar chart and then submit a picture of PDF or your work.)

1) A+ can receive: A± and O±
2) A- can receive: A- and O-
3) B+ can receive: B± and O±
4) B- can receive: B- and O-
5) O+ can receive: O+ and O-
6) O- can receive: O-
7) AB+ can receive: all blood types, thus making it the universal recipient
8) AB- can receive: A-, B-, AB-, and O-
