Termination codons in bacteria are decoded by one of two proteins. Release factor 1 (RF1) recognizes UAG and UAA, whereas RF2 recognizes UGA and UAA. For RF2, a comparison of the nucleotide sequence of the gene with the amino acid sequence of the protein revealed a startling surprise, which is contained within the sequences shown below the gene (in the attached photo).

I don't understand the following (underlined):
The DNA sequence GGG TAT CTT TGA CTA CGA CGC C should not encode the protein sequence of RF2, since UGA is a termination codon. Instead it should be read as GGG TAT CTTT GAC TAC GAC GCC.

How is UGA involved in the DNA sequence?

I think I am missing something here. The DNA sequence is:

GGG TAT CTT TGA CTA CGA CGC C

Which translates to

CCC AUA GAA ACU GAU GCU GCG G

There is no codon that matches UAG, UGA or UAA
