Hello all, my question regards why bacteria use anaerobic respiration during photosynthesis. I understand that bacteria is prokaryotic, and the break down of acids to form carbohydrates etc. I'm just stuck on one question.
What do bacteria cells not have that eukaryotic cell do that allows the use of oxygen?

During fermentation to break down acids and form carbohydrates, these bacteria require no oxygen and use anaerobic respiration to break down sugar and release energy. WHAT DO THEY NOT HAVE THAT EUKARYOTIC CELLS DO HAVE THAT ALLOWS USE OF OXYGEN?

Mitochondria.

Eukaryotic cells have mitochondria that were once bacteria. They have a double membrane that allows for a proton gradient to occur. Bacteria are not as complex.
