The answer is A.
Marasmus is a disorder caused by deficiency of protein resulting in PEM ( Protein- energy malnutrition). Marasmus also includes inadequate supply of carbohydrates ( main source of calorie).
Infants within the age group 6 months- 1 year are affected by this disorder when they do not get sufficient mother's milk & weaning diet. Such infants are often provided with diluted cow or buffalo milk.
Marasmus babies have emaciated body with shriveled appearance, thin face, sunken eyes, wrinkled dry skin, protruding ribs, low weight, little growth, replacement of tissue proteins etc.
