I'm 19, almost 20 and still have a strong hairline with no recession yet. I'm just wondering that if I did start to recede, would I notice large clumps of hair falling out, or is it just gradual and no different to the normal 80-150 you lose per day.

I don't think you have to worry about loosing your hair yet.

It recedes gradually, usually over a long period of time +3 years until you see a noticable difference.
