So, I did the experiment to test the water potential of pieces of potato using different concentrations of sucrose solution. I left the pieces in the solution for a week in room temperature. When I weighed them, all of their masses went down. I also noticed that one of the solutions was really thick. Could starch have diffused out of the potatoes? and how? Thanks

Hi there, see if the attachment helps. I think they are performing a similar experiment with results and a conclusion.

Yes, it's the same experiment and they got the results I should have gotten . However I am asking why my results contradict the hypothesis

Maybe the solution you created was wrong. Just change your results.
