It uses it all throughout the reaction. Specifically, it occurs when the 3-Phosphoglycerate becomes a 3-Biphosphoglycerate (uses 6 ATP), and then from 3-Biophosphoglycerate to Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (uses 6 NADPH), and then from G3P to Ribulose bisphosphate (RuBP) (uses 3 ATP). In brief, ATP and NADPH are used after the carbons from carbon dioxide are combined through rubisco.
