When juveniles are transferred automatically to adult court when they commit a particular crime, it is called automatic transfer.

The types of crimes that cause this type of automatic transfer vary by jurisdiction. For example, in Illinois, 16- and 17-year-olds are automatically transferred to adult court if they are charged with first-degree murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault, or aggravated battery with a firearm.

In Connecticut, juveniles aged 15 through 17 are automatically transferred to adult criminal court if they are charged with a capital felony committed prior to April 25, 2012; a class A felony; most class B felonies; or arson murder.

I hope this helps!
