1.) A box that measures 1m by 2m by 3m is to be enlarged by increasing each side length by the same amount. The equation that calculates the increase in side length so that the volume is 10 times larger is?

a.) (x+1)(x+2)(x+3)=10
b.) (x-1)(x-2)(x-3)=10
c.) (x+1)(x+2)(x+3)=60
d.) (x-1)(x-2)(x-3)=60

1. The answer is C.

2. y = a(3)^x - k, substitute x = 1 and y = 2

2 = a(3)^1 - k
2 = 3a - k

You could also substitute zero for x and two for y, then find k that way Slight Smile
