To study the effects of the Ritalin on the cognitive performance of children with ADHD, Dr. Remedy used a design in which 30 children with ADHD performed several cognitive tasks after taking a sugar pill (placebo), and then performed the same set of tasks several hours later after taking Ritalin.  Results showed that fewer errors were made with the Ritalin treatment.  From these findings, Dr. Remedy cannot conclude that Ritalin facilitated the cognitive performance of his participants because he did not account for
