1. Individuals believe they are under attack. Al Qaeda believes capitalism is ruining Islam, corrupting Muslim children and a threat to their culture. Prolife advocates believe abortion is murder and that abortion is a government conspiracy.
2. God wants the evil destroyed. Al Qaeda is waging a "holy war" to preserve its beliefs. Prolife members will go to any lengths to demonstrate their beliefs (including killing doctors who perform abortions and blowing up planned parenthood centers).
3. Only violence will resolve the situation. Both groups have demonstrated they are quick to use violence.
4. God has chosen them for this task. Al Qaeda bombers believe they are going to heaven. Prolife people belief this is a non-negotiable aspect of their religious beliefs.
5. The perspectives are nurtured by a community. Al Qaeda honors its suicide bombers and pays their next of kin an honorarium. Some churches call themselves a prolife parish and hold marches and demonstrations.
