Axis paid a lot of attention to the way girls looked on TV. They looked like grownups, and wore designer clothes and make-up. Also, they were very thin. Comparing herself to these girls in the media probably had the effect on Axis of 
a. raising her self-esteem.
b. making her more negative toward the media.
c. lowering her self-esteem.
d. feeling more attractive than her peers.
