1 -- The patient experiencing peritonitis may develop an abscess, which can lead to shock. The patient developing shock may present with oliguria, hypotension, fever, restlessness, confusion, and hypovolemia. The symptoms do not indicate inflammation, third spacing, or bowel dysfunction.
