Two long, straight, parallel conductors are 10 cm apart (see figure below).
Conductor A has a current i_A=2.0 A flowing out of the page, and conductor B has a current i_B=3.0 A flowing in the opposite direction (into the page). [10 marks]

Calculate the intensity of the magnetic field at points P1, P2 and P3, where:
 (P_1 A) ̅=2cm, (P_2 A) ̅=4cm and (P_3 B) ̅=3cm.

given that

iA = 2 A

iB = 3 A

d = 10cm

(1)

B at point P1

B1 = (u0*iA /2*pi*r1) - (u0*iB/2*pi*r2)

B1 = (u0/*pi*2 )*(iA/r1 - iB/r2)

B1 = ( 4*pi*10^(-7) /pi*2 )* ( 2/0.02 - 3/(0.1-0.02) )

B1 = 1.25*10^(-5) T

(2)

B at point P2

B2 = (u0*iA /2*pi*r1) - (u0*iB/2*pi*r2)

B2 = (u0/*pi*2 )*(iA/r1 - iB/r2)

B2 = ( 4*pi*10^(-7) /pi*2 )* ( 2/0.04 - 3/(0.1-0.04) )

B2 = 0 T

(3)

B at point P3

B2 = (u0*iA /2*pi*r1) - (u0*iB/2*pi*r2)

B2 = (u0/*pi*2 )*(iA/r1 - iB/r2)

B2 = ( 4*pi*10^(-7) /pi*2 )* ( 2/(0.1-0.03) - 3/0.03 )

B2 = -1.42*10^(-5) T
