Why are crops like vines usually grown on a hill??
Does it have something to do with water drainage??
Thanks in advance
Just to make sure, I mean why are slopes important for the crops not why are crops important for the slope

It has to do with getting enough sun light.
So you choose the south slope which gets the most light.

But water drainage is also important.
Grape vines don't like pools of water at root level.
