A 52-year-old male patient presents to the clinic complaining of limited range of motion in the left arm with a pain level of 8 on a scale of 0-10. His blood pressure is 152/86; heart rate 106; and respiratory rate is 22. What would be the priority nursing diagnosis for this patient?
1. Acute Pain
2. Altered Tissue Perfusion
3. Limited Range-of-Motion
4. Impaired Gas Exchange

1 -- The patient is reporting a pain level of 8 out of 10 and his vital signs correlate with the complaints of pain (elevated blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate). Although limited range of motion would be secondary, his pain is a priority. There is no indication given the data that there is any impairment in gas exchange or altered tissue perfusion.
