1 -- Hemorrhagic stroke occurs most often in people with hypertension. Of all forms of stroke, this form is most often fatal and accounts for about 20% of all strokes. Patients with sleep apnea, sickle cell disease, and diabetes are at higher risk for ischemic stroke.
