Our bodies have two circulatory systems. The first, which everyone knows of, is the heart, which pumps blood through the arteries and veins, bringing oxygen and food energy to all parts of the body.

The second is the lymphatic system, which recycles lymph fluid, which leaks from the arteries and veins, upward from the legs, through the trunk of the body, collected, filtered by the lymph nodes, and then returned to the blood stream near the neck. This action plays a large part in our bodies defense against viruses and other invaders.

While the blood is moved around by the action of the heart, the lymphatic fluid is circulated by the action of our muscles, such as walking and other daily activities.
