When you plug in all the values you are given and get your answer what unit goes at the end of the number? m/s? nm? No clue what it could be...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
V= (Δλ / λ) C
V=the magnitude of radial velocity
where C is speed of light
where λ is rest wavelength
where Δλ is difference of observed and rest wavelengths

λ and Δλ have the same units. So the unit of V should be the same as C. So, if for C you use 300.000m/s you will use m/s as your unit. There are other possible units you may use, like km/s, km/h ect. But after you solve the equation (V= (Δλ / λ) C ) the unit you will use should be the same as the unit you used for C.
