I want to use Plexiglas (brand name Optix) in an electrical project.  Can anyone tell me about its electrical properties?  I'm having a hard time finding information about that.  I know electricity can arc through it if it's in the Kv, but would there be any problem with arcing through it below 500v?

i would expect the dielectric strength of a 6mm thick sheet of plexiglas to be sufficient to withstand the 500V you wish to use. You could download the data sheet from the manufactures website.

Die electric strength is  450 to 550 volts / mil
So there is no problem with 3 to 4 mm thick flexiglass sheet.
