Many potent insecticides contain chemicals that block the action of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. Ivan is using one of these insecticides and is very careless. He does not use gloves or a dust mask and absorbs some of the chemical through his skin. He inhales a large amount as well.

Based on what you studied about muscle physiology and not Internet research, what symptoms would you expect to observe in Ivan as a result of this type of insecticide poisoning and why?

Listing symptoms that have been pulled from the Internet without an explanation based on what you were asked to study will result in a 0 score on this essay.

This leads to the build up of excessive levels of the neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, at the skeletal neuromuscular junction and those synapses where acetylcholine receptors are located

Thus, the primary manifestations of acute cholinesterase inhibitor toxicity are those of cholinergic (neurotransmitter) hyperactivity.
