My project needs a 3d model, I'm thinking of using lego peices. Heres the thing; I'm thinking of making a big box lego and leaving some space in it to put the "enzyme". So the active site will be the lego cube im gonna make and I'll leave 2 places for the substrate to attach. When it comes out, the color will change of the substrate. I don't know what else to think of tho.

That's perfect!  What you could also do is cut out two pieces of cardboard for the enzyme and the substrate.  Smiling Face with Open Mouth

If you don't mind, maybe we could use the chat thingy as well? Thank you:)

I wish I could do that:( it has to be "unique"

Btw, what would i label the NAD+ as and stuff like that? I have the basic concept but how would I relate it to the actual reaction? Thanks for your help:)!!

Well, you can say in the very last step of the Kreb's Cycle, when Malate is converted to Oxaloacetate, the enzyme malate dehydrogenase aids in reduction of the coenzyme NAD+ to NADH and H+.  Basically, NAD+ gains electrons (reduction) and is the oxidizing agent.  NADH would therefore have to lose electrons (oxidation) and would be the reducing agent.  Also, mention that for every NADH, 3 ATP molecules are generated.  For FADH2, 2 ATP molecules are generated.

Hope this helps!  Smiling Face with Open Mouth

It helped me answer some unanswered question too TY:) But I mean when I do the actual model, how would I show it specfically for malate dehyd.. only? I only know how to show it for a general interaction.

Your partner could explain that portion.  Do you have to come up with a model for that too?

Cause I'm a new kid at my class, I don't really got a partner. I mean I do, but hes really busy so he can barley help me at all, but I don't mind. He's a good guy, isn't his fault. I have to come up with a model showing: Induced-fit model of an enzyme-substrate interaction with malate dehyd..(I chose this enzyme)

Ok.  But is a model for the NAD+ Rightwards Arrow NADH + H+ required or not?  I don't think you would need a model really to explain that.  I think it's just a conversion that goes alongside with the reaction.  You can just simply state what I mentioned about it.  Face with Rolling Eyes

I think I have to put that part as well if I don't, I'll just explain then but could you tell me how I would if I would have to? Face with Stuck-out Tongue

I think what I've mentioned above regarding NAD+ is the most important and sufficient.  How long is your presentation supposed to be?  Smiling Face with Open Mouth

I don't even think I need to present it, there just has to be a model, and a sheet explaining the model.

LOL...how long does the sheet have to be?

Probs no more than one page I guess, I think 2 would be max tho. So somewhere in between 1-2

Ok.  So, I think that's enough info. because you're going to also be posting images, correct?  Smiling Face with Open Mouth
