Hi. B is true because of nitrogen fixation, but as plants decay after their life is over the nitrogen returns to the atmosphere. This has happened for eons.

C.  If B were true the Nitrogen would not still be the main component of the atmosphere. Only a small amount of the overall Nitrogen available is used in nitrogen fixation.
