Why did the Soviet Union join forces with Hitler and Germany when Stalin abhorred fascism?

  A) Germany made a better offer for alliance than either Britain or France.
  B) The mutual distrust prevented a strong alliance between Germany and the Soviet Union.
  C) The Soviets had supported the resistance against Franco and failed. They realized the winning side was the fascist side.
  D) The Soviets decided to join forces with Germany when they noted the pact with both Italy and Japan.
  E) Britain and France refused to ally with the Soviet Union against Germany and fascism as they thought the Soviet Union was the greater threat. Insulted, the Soviet Union allied with Germany to provide what was best for mother Russia.
